The Forge
Put the thought
under heat.
Strong emotions deserve respect, but they are not automatically evidence. Use the Forge to slow the thought down, test it, and rewrite it into something more accurate and useful.
How The Forge works
Separate what happened from the story your mind built around it.
The Forge is a structured reflection exercise for moments when a thought feels absolutely true but may contain several different ingredients: observable facts, assumptions, predictions, emotional reasoning, remembered patterns, and missing information.
You are not trying to talk yourself out of a real concern. You are testing the thought hard enough to see which parts survive examination. By comparing evidence that supports and challenges the thought, then separating pattern recognition from proof, you can rewrite the conclusion into something more accurate without pretending the emotion was meaningless.
Step 1
Name what is burning.
The Six Sacred Questions
Who is involved? What happened? When did it happen? Where did it happen? Why do I think it matters? How do I know?
A boundary worth keeping
This is reflection, not crisis care.
If a thought involves immediate danger, self-harm, harming someone else, or a medical emergency, use real-world emergency or professional support rather than trying to reason your way through it alone.
